ISLAMABAD, Nov 13 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Engineer Amir Maqam, here on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting in Islamabad to review the implementation of the agreement between the Government of Pakistan and the Joint Public Action Committee (JPAC).
The session was attended by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Chief Secretary Azad Kashmir Khushhal Khan, Secretary Kashmir Affairs Zafar Hassan and Additional Secretary Kamran Rehman Khan.
During the meeting, Engineer Amir Maqam stressed the importance of strict compliance with all provisions of the agreement and directed all relevant departments to ensure maximum implementation ahead of the upcoming session in Muzaffarabad.
Chief Secretary Khushhal Khan provided a detailed briefing on the status of ongoing initiatives, highlighting both completed actions and pending matters requiring urgent attention.
Officials reviewed coordination and progress between the Azad Kashmir government and federal authorities, focusing on enhanced monitoring mechanisms, accountability measures and steps to expedite pending tasks. Engineer Maqam emphasized that all possible measures must be taken to guarantee smooth execution of the agreement.
According to official sources, the next joint session between the government and JPAC is scheduled for 15 November in Muzaffarabad. Minister Amir Maqam reiterated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued clear directives for full adherence to the agreement, reflecting the government’s commitment to timely and effective implementation.
The participants expressed the confidence that with continued cooperation and focused monitoring, the objectives of the Kashmir agreement would be fully realized.
The meeting underscored the government’s dedication to governance, development, and welfare initiatives for the people of Azad Kashmir.
