PHA chief visits Murree to review beautification, tourism enhancement projects

RAWALPINDI, November 13 (APP): Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) Director General, Naheed Gul Baloch on Thursday visited various beautification sites and public parks in Malka-e-Kohsar Murree to review ongoing projects for enhancing the city’s natural beauty and improving facilities for tourists.

She was accompanied by Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi Director General, Ahmed Hassan Ranjha, who briefed her on the progress of beautification and upgradation initiatives being implemented in collaboration with local authorities.

During the visit, Naheed Gul Baloch inspected several key locations including Bagh-e-Shaheedan Park, PIA Park, Lower Topa Park, and a local flower shop, assessing the horticultural arrangements and amenities provided for visitors. She instructed the officials concerned to further enhance floral decoration, increase greenery, and improve the overall aesthetic appeal of Murree’s parks and recreational sites.

“The facilities for tourists must be continuously upgraded, and the quality of beautification projects should reflect the city’s stature as a premier hill destination,” she emphasized, adding that lush plantations and creative landscaping are essential to preserving Murree’s charm.

Later, the PHA director general inspected several set-out areas and ongoing beautification projects, providing directives to ensure their timely and quality completion. She also visited the PHA Rawalpindi head office in Murree, where a detailed discussion was held on current and upcoming beautification and infrastructure improvement projects across the region.

Ahmed Hassan Ranjha briefed the DG PHA on the progress of enhancement works at key parks, intersections, and scenic points, noting that special attention is being given to environmental sustainability and tourist convenience.

Commending the efforts of PHA Rawalpindi, Naheed Gul Baloch lauded the authority’s dedication to maintaining Murree’s natural splendor and tourist-friendly environment. She directed officials to make recreational spaces more attractive and accessible, intending to promote eco-tourism and a cleaner, greener Murree.

“Murree’s identity lies in its natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere. Our collective efforts must ensure that the city remains a model of horticultural excellence and sustainable tourism,” she said.

The PHA Rawalpindi administration reaffirmed its commitment to introducing innovative green projects and enhanced recreational facilities for residents and visitors alike.
