Modern air quality monitoring stations installed at IUB

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 13 (APP): Vice Chancellor of The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran praised the efforts of the Punjab Environment Protection Authority (EPA) for employing scientific methods to monitor and reduce environmental pollution across the province.
During a recent visit to the Air Quality Index Monitoring Station at the Institute of Agro-Industry, Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Prof Dr Kamran noted that the Punjab government had installed two state-of-the-art air quality monitoring stations at IUB’s Abbasia and Baghdad-ul-Jadeed Campuses.
These stations provide real-time data on air pollution levels in Bahawalpur, helping to ensure a cleaner environment for the region.
Prof Dr Kamran was briefed on the advanced systems used to measure environmental pollution by Director of the Institute, Prof. Dr. Ghulam Hassan Abbasi.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of utilizing the environmental data generated by these monitoring stations for scientific research.
He encouraged university scientists to actively contribute to improving the region’s environmental quality through their research and findings.
The visit was attended by Director Public Relations Dr Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, Dr Muhammad Ali, and representatives from the Environment Protection Authority.
