PESHAWAR, Nov 13 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has initiated work on E-Rickshaw project in Peshawar to address the growing problem of air pollution and rising fuel consumption.
Significant progress has been made in developing the project’s infrastructure and implementation framework, and it is expected to be launched soon.
A steering committee meeting organized by the KP Department of Planning and Development reviewed the project’s progress and discussed future strategies for the introduction of electronic rickshaws in Peshawar. The meeting focused on various aspects of the initiative, including the benefits of e-rickshaws, the required infrastructure, and implementation phases.
Participants of the meeting agreed that the introduction of e-rickshaws would provide a clean, sustainable, and efficient mode of transport for the citizens of Peshawar. The project aims to reduce air pollution and offer the public a modern and eco-friendly alternative for daily commuting.
It is worth mentioning that the provincial government decided to introduce electric rickshaws in Peshawar as part of its efforts to tackle environmental challenges and promote green transportation. Work on the project is progressing rapidly.
