LAHORE, Nov 12 (APP):An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday sent 50 workers of a banned religious party to jail for an identification parade in cases pertaining to murder, attempted murder and terrorism.
ATC Administrative Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the proceedings and passed the orders following a request submitted by the police for holding the identification parade.
Meanwhile, 22 other accused who had been in police custody on physical remand were produced before the court upon completion of their remand period. The court sent them to jail on judicial remand.
According to police, the accused were allegedly involved in attacks on police officials, acts of arson, and violent riots, including an assault on the Shahdara Police Station. The cases have been registered at Shahdara, Nawan Kot, and several other police stations in Lahore.
Those sent to jail for identification parade include Muhammad Ijaz, Mohsin Akbar, Muhammad Abdullah, Ali Raza, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Nauman, Muhammad Ashraf, Mehndi Hasan, Muhammad Umar Shahid, and Muhammad Hasnain, among others.
