UE hosts 3rd int’l conference on recent approaches in plant sciences

LAHORE, Nov 12 (APP): The Department of Botany, University of Education (UE), Lahore, inaugurated the 3rd International Conference on Recent Approaches in Plant Sciences (RAPS-2025) under the theme “Innovative Technologies for Global Challenges and a Sustainable Future” here on Wednesday.
The two-day hybrid conference attracted participation from renowned researchers, scientists, and scholars from across the globe. The opening day featured plenary and keynote sessions by distinguished speakers from China, Türkiye, the United
States, Malaysia, Australia, Iran, Indonesia, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, and various African countries, focusing on advancements in plant physiology, ecology, and sustainable agriculture. Over 200 research abstracts will be presented during the event.
Prof Dr Muhammad Ali (SI, TI), Vice Chancellor, University of the Punjab, graced the opening ceremony as Chief Guest, while Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry, Vice Chancellor, University of Education, Lahore, presided over the session.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Dr. Aqif Anwar Chaudhry emphasized the critical role of plant sciences in addressing global sustainability challenges and underscored the need for innovation and collaboration in biotechnology, genetics, and environmental conservation. He lauded the Department of Botany for providing a dynamic platform to connect leading experts and young researchers for scientific exchange and knowledge sharing.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali commended the University of Education for organizing an international forum promoting scientific collaboration and innovation in plant sciences. He highlighted the significance of research-driven approaches to combat global challenges, including climate change, food security, and environmental degradation.
The event was also attended by Prof Dr Mohammad Alam, Director Division of Science and Technology, Prof Dr Abrar Hussain, faculty members, staff, and a large number of students.
