ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday witnessed a modest gain of 313.44 points, a positive change of 0.20 points, closing at 158,183.95 points compared to 157,870.50 points on the previous day.
A total of 757.24 million shares valuing Rs33.41 billion were traded in the ready market compared to 836.42 million shares worth Rs38.07 billion a day earlier. The market capitalization stood at Rs18.07 trillion against Rs18.08 trillion previously.
Out of 480 companies active in the session, 188 closed higher, 235 declined, and 57 remained unchanged.
The three top-trading companies were F. Nat. Equities with 89.36 million shares at Rs20.66, followed by PIA Holding Company with 56.34 million shares at Rs29.75, and WorldCall Telecom with 48.70 million shares at Rs1.66 per share.
The top gainers were PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which increased by Rs331.34 to close at Rs24,532.96, and Pakistan Services Limited, rising by Rs88.00 to close at Rs1,382.93.
On the other hand, the major losers were Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, which declined by Rs247.00 to settle at Rs28,453.00, and Supernet Technologies Limited, decreasing by Rs56.93 to close at Rs1,508.45.
In the futures market, 151.29 million shares were traded compared to 179.94 million shares previously, with a total traded value of Rs8.15 billion.
Among the volume leaders were PIA Holding Company (Nov) with 27.09 million shares at Rs29.82, Bank of Punjab (Nov) with 15.38 million shares at Rs35.38, and WorldCall Telecom (Nov) with 10.61 million shares at Rs1.68.
