Alhamra hosts symposium on Iqbal’s thought and Islamic renaissance

LAHORE, Nov 12 (APP): An intellectual symposium titled “The Creative Thought of Islamic Renaissance: From Allama Iqbal to Dr Burhan Ahmed Farooqi” was held at Alhamra Hall 3 under the joint auspices of Idara-e-Saqafat-e-Islamia, Lahore Arts Council Alhamra, and the Pakistan Philosophical Association.
The event brought together scholars, intellectuals, students, and citizens to discuss the significance
of Allama Iqbal’s philosophy in the intellectual revival of the Muslim world. Speakers noted that Iqbal’s thought continues to serve as a guiding light for the Islamic renaissance.
Dr Akram Chaudhry presided over the session, while Executive Director Alhamra Mahboob Alam Chaudhry was the Chief Guest.
Addressing the audience, ED Alhamra said that true success lies in self-purification and spiritual discipline.
Dr Burhan Ahmed Farooqi highlighted that spiritual growth must accompany institutional reform for meaningful progress.
Prominent scholars, including Dr Waheed-uz-Zaman Tariq, Dr Abdur-Rauf Rafiqi, Dr Javed Iqbal Nadeem,
Dr Saima Aram, Dr Khizar Yaseen, and Dr Absar Ahmed shared their views on the creative and intellectual dimensions of Iqbal’s philosophy. They emphasized that following Iqbal’s vision is vital for the Muslim Ummah to regain its lost glory.
The session was moderated by Naveen Roma of Alhamra Academy and featured a poetry recital by student Zahid Hashmi. Commemorative souvenirs were presented to all guest speakers and participants by ED Alhamra Mahboob Alam Chaudhry.
