ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP):The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) on Wednesday promoted ten officers to higher ranks in recognition of their professionalism, dedication, and meritorious service.

The promotions approved in meetings of the Departmental Promotion Committees held at the Ministry of Communications and Central Police Office, Islamabad, said a press release.
Among the promoted officers, 02 Deputy Superintendents of Police (BS-17) were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (BS-18); 01 Assistant Private Secretary and 02 Computer Operators (BS-16) were promoted to Private Secretary and Computer Programmers (BS-17) respectively; while one Superintendent (BS-16) was granted Higher Time Scale (BS-17).
The second meeting of the Departmental Promotion Committee, chaired by DIG (HRM) Shahid Javed, was held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad, in which 04 Assistants (BS-15) were promoted to the post of Office Superintendent (BS-16). The promotion process was completed strictly on the basis of rules, seniority, and merit.
Formal approval for the promotions was granted by Federal Secretary Communications Ali Sher Mehsud and Inspector General of Motorway Police B.A. Nasir, following recommendations by the committees chaired by DIG (HRM) Shahid Javed and the Secretary Communications.
A badge-pinning ceremony was held at the Central Police Office, Islamabad, where IG B.A. Nasir personally pinned new rank badges on Officer Rizwan Abbasi, promoted from DSP to SP, and presented flower bouquets to the other promoted officials. The event was attended by DIGs, SSPs, senior officers, and staff members.
Congratulating the officers, IG B.A. Nasir said the promotions were “a recognition of their dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service record.” He urged all officers to uphold the department’s legacy of integrity, courtesy, and impartial enforcement of law.
“Promotion is a milestone that brings greater responsibility,” he remarked. “Public service remains our top priority, and I hope these promotions will become a source of pride for both the department and the country.”
The IG commended the NHMP for maintaining its distinguished reputation through discipline, fair conduct, and timely public assistance, adding that the Motorway Police continues to set a benchmark in professional policing and service delivery.
