ISLAMABAD, Nov 12 (APP):After a long gap of 14 years, the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) on Wednesday held its convocation to honour students for their outstanding academic accomplishments.
The ceremony was graced by the Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar as the chief guest, while Members of the National Assembly Anjum Aqeel, Jamal Raisani and Fatehullah participated as special guests. Vice Chancellor Dr Zabita Khan, faculty members, students, and parents were also attended the landmark event.
Congratulating the university administration for organizing the long-awaited convocation, the Minister of State lauded FUUAST’s efforts in promoting higher education and research in the country.
She assured the government’s continued support to further strengthen the university’s academic, research activities and other affairs that would lead it to achieve new height of progress.
“FUUAST is playing a vital role in the field of education and research,” she said, urging students to serve society with dedication and integrity in their professional careers.
Vice Chancellor Dr Zabta Khan, in his address, praised the graduates for achieving an important milestone and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded, socially responsible individuals.
He emphasized that FUUAST’s vision is to equip students with knowledge and skills that contribute to the nation’s development.
He also optimistic to organize the convocation every year for the motivation of the students and also to mark their achievements memorable.
Graduating students expressed their joy and gratitude, calling the convocation a unforgettable moment marking the culmination of years of academic hard work and diligence.
Earlier, gold medals were awarded to students who showed excellent performance during their academic journey.
