SARGODHA, Nov 12 (APP):Commissioner Jahanzeb Awan directed action against 12 price control magistrates for poor performance, issuing show-cause notices to five of them under the Punjab Efficiency and Discipline Act (PEDA).
According to the spokesperson for the Commissioner’s office here on Wednesday, deputy commissioners from four districts, ADCR Abdul Qadeer, ADCG Mia wali Mudassir Abbas, Director Development Bilaal Hassan and other officers were also present.
The magistrates were found lacking in their duties, prompting the Commissioner’s action.
During the meeting, Manager Job Bureau Bhakkar Idrees Jameel was awarded a second commendation certificate for outstanding performance.
The meeting also reviewed progress on the E-Biz Portal, with 238 applications received, 162 approved, and 17 rejected.
ADCR Bakkar briefed the meeting that Bhakkar has completed 27 percent of its city beautification work, with other districts to follow suit.
The commissioner said that no compromise will be made on price control and public relief, adding that officers failing to improve performance will face strict action under PEDA.
