SUKKUR, Nov 12 (APP):The Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) on Wednesday handed over productive assets, including heifers, goats, and sheep, to seven ultra-poor families of BISP beneficiaries in district Shikarpur.
The assets were distributed as part of the National Poverty Graduation Programme, a flagship program of the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety (MOPASS), Government of Pakistan, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The distributed livestock, which include two heifers, eight goats, and two sheep, were screened, vaccinated, and tagged in the presence of the beneficiaries. They have also been insured under SRSO’s Micro-Health Insurance policy to provide a safety cover to the beneficiaries’ livelihood source.
The programme aims to support ultra-poor families in improving their socio-economic conditions and reducing poverty in the region.
