HYDERABAD, Nov 12 (APP):A district readiness meeting was held under the chair of the Deputy Commissioner Sanghar Sarah Javed to review preparations for the upcoming Measles and Rubella (MR/OPV) vaccination campaign scheduled to be conducted from November 17 to 29, 2025.
Officers from the departments of health, education, information, municipal administration and police attended the meeting.
According to a handout issued on Wednesday, Deputy Commissioner said that protecting children from dangerous diseases such as measles, rubella and polio was a shared responsibility.
She informed that children aged between six months and five years would be vaccinated during the campaign.
She appealed to parents and representatives of civil society to ensure that their children receive vaccination at nearby health centers, temporary camps or schools to protect them 100 percent from these preventable diseases.
District Health Officer Dr. Daulat Jamali briefed the meeting about the arrangements, vaccine availability, training of vaccination teams and the awareness campaign.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to extend full cooperation for the success of the anti-polio and MR campaign to make Sanghar a polio-free district.
ADC Abdul Majeed Zahrani, Additional DHO Dr. Muhammad Farooq, Civil Surgeon Dr. Aftab Azam Sirewal, EPI Focal Person Dr. Murtaza Siyal, UNICEF representative Aftab Ahmed, WHO’s Dr. Bilal and other concerned officers also attended the meeting.
