LAHORE, Nov 11 (APP):Justice Farooq Haider of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday recused himself from hearing the post-arrest bail petition of renowned YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, citing personal reasons.
The judge directed that the case file be forwarded to the LHC Chief Justice for the constitution of a new bench to hear the matter.
Earlier, the court had issued notices to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) seeking its response on the case.
In his petition, Ducky Bhai contended that the allegations against him were baseless and unsupported by credible evidence, urging the court to grant him post-arrest bail.
The NCCIA Lahore had registered a case against Saadur Rehman under various provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, including Sections 13 (Electronic Forgery), 14 (Electronic Fraud), 25 (Spamming), and 26 (Spoofing), as well as Sections 294-B (Offering prizes for commercial purposes) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property) of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
According to the FIR, members of the public invested their earnings in online gambling and betting applications, suffering significant financial losses. It alleges that Ducky Bhai promoted platforms such as 1xBet, Bet365, B9 Game, and Binomo on his YouTube channel, and purportedly served as a “country manager” for one of them.
