ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday reserved the decision on the admissibility of the petition seeking to stop the session judge Nasir Javed Rana from working.
Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar heard the petition of petitioner Osama Riaz. The case is filed against Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana in the light of the Supreme Court’s 2004 observation.
Lawyer petitioner Riaz Hanif Rahi appeared in the court.
The chief justice questioned that the order is from twenty-two years ago, so where were you before. After twenty-two years, you remembered that the order of the Supreme Court was not implemented, he remarked.
The lawyer argued that time bar is a different matter, the issue was highlighted in the media in October 2025. According to the notification we have challenged, the judge is doing his duty, he said. The lawyer said that If something is illegal, it was highlighted, it was published by an English newspaper, the record is there.
Whatever it is, it is an observation of the Supreme Court, Petitioner’s lawyer said.
He further said that there is a procedure, we bow our heads to the order of the Supreme Court and the High Court.
He said that the Supreme Court had given observations which are part of the judicial record.
After hearing the arguments, the court reserved the decision on the admissibility of the petition.
