Art exhibition showcases innovative felt art at Nishtar Hall

PESHAWAR, Nov 11 (APP):An inspiring art exhibition held here at Nishtar Hall on Tuesday highlighted the remarkable achievements of Ms. Malghalara, the first felt artist of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who showcased a stunning collection of felt-based artworks alongside her fellow students.
The exhibition also included an impressive range of paintings, textile art, and communication design projects, reflecting the diversity and creativity of emerging female artists of the region.
Curated by Sania Siraj and co-curated by the faculty of the Department of Art and Design, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar (SBBWUP) the exhibition featured a vibrant display of creative works by the talented students of the Department, introducing felt art as a formal art form in KP for the first time.
The Chief Guest, Naveed Shabir, former President of the Floral Art Society Lotus Chapter, appreciated the artistic vision of the Department and commended the University’s role in promoting women artists.
“The Department of Art and Design at SBBWUP is doing an amazing job in nurturing and showcasing the immense creative talent of female artists in KP. Every year, I see new ideas and innovation through their participation in the Dosti Peshawar Women Literature Festival and art exhibitions,” she remarked.
Professor Dr. Safia Ahmad (T.I), Vice Chancellor of SBBWUP, also appreciated the collaborative effort of the Dosti Welfare Organization and the University’s organizing team, extending her congratulations to Ejaz from Dosti Welfare Organization, as well as Dr. Hamida Bibi and Tashfeen Zia from SBBWUP for successfully organizing this creative endeavor.
The exhibition not only celebrated the artistic achievements of young women but also reaffirmed the University’s commitment to promoting art, culture, and creative expression in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
