ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP):The Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) has released its Factsheet on Child Protection and Justice in Islamabad for the first half of 2025, based on data obtained through the Right to Information (RTI) from Islamabad Police.
The report provides an overview of child-related cases registered between January and June 2025 and highlights the need for continued institutional efforts to ensure effective child protection, timely investigation, and coordinated legal proceedings.
According to the data, 276 child-related cases were registered during the reporting period.
Out of these, 148 reached the challan (charge-sheet) stage, while 139 proceeded to trial. Seven cases concluded with convictions.
The report notes the importance of improving procedures for investigation, evidence management, and inter-agency coordination to strengthen the overall justice process.
Executive Director of SSDO, Syed Kausar Abbas, said that child protection is a shared national responsibility and emphasized the need for collective efforts by law enforcement, prosecution, and judicial institutions.
He underlined the significance of continuous training and capacity building of relevant officials to ensure that cases involving children are handled with care, efficiency, and sensitivity.
Mr. Abbas also stressed the importance of maintaining transparent data and evidence-based planning to guide policy formulation and strengthen public confidence in justice and protection systems.
The organization reaffirmed its commitment to support government institutions through research, advocacy, and technical assistance for the protection and welfare of children.
