ISLAMABAD, Nov 11 (APP):Director General of the National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleem Mazhar has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the passing of renowned poet, writer, and senator Irfan Siddiqui (Hilal-e-Imtiaz), and distinguished scholar, educationist, and historian Prof. Arfa Sayeda Zehra.
In his condolence message on Tuesday, Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar said that Senator Irfan Siddiqui’s literary and intellectual contributions, his insightful writings, and his command of language and expression brought new distinction to Urdu literature. Similarly, Prof. Arfa Sayeda Zehra played a vital role in promoting education, research, and the social sciences in Pakistan.
He stated that the demise of these two notable personalities is an irreparable loss to Urdu literature, education, and the country’s intellectual tradition.
He prayed that may Allah Almighty grant the departed souls a high rank in Jannah and give their bereaved families patience and strength to bear this loss with fortitude.
