RAWALPINDI, Nov 10 (APP):Pakistan and Sri Lanka held an intensive practice session at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Monday ahead of the Pakistan–Sri Lanka–Zimbabwe Tri-Series, amid stringent security arrangements put in place by the Rawalpindi Police.
According to City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Hamdani, more than 5,500 police officers and personnel, along with over 350 traffic officers, have been deployed to ensure foolproof security and smooth traffic flow during the series.
Senior officers remained in the field to inspect and brief the deployed security forces. Snipers were positioned on rooftops, while CCTV cameras used to monitor the stadium and surrounding areas through a specially established control room.
Police mobiles, as well as Elite and Dolphin Squad units, conducted regular patrols around the stadium to maintain a secure environment.
CPO Syed Khalid Hamdani emphasised that the Rawalpindi Police were taking all possible measures to ensure foolproof security and efficient traffic management throughout the Tri-Series.
