KP govt moves towards digitization: CM

PESHAWAR, Nov 10 (APP):Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Monday said that all affairs of the province are gradually being moved toward digitalization for better service delivery.
Presiding over a meeting here, he said that Digital Payment Act has been prepared and will soon be presented to the cabinet for approval.
Under this system, he said all payment transactions between the government, the public, and traders will be made digital.
He said the purpose of digitalization is to ensure transparency, convenience, and efficiency in financial matters.
So far, 170 different services have been identified to be included in the digital system, and digitalization of 14 different services has already been completed.
These services include property transfer tax, property tax, arms licenses, water charges (Abiana), driving licenses, plot registration, HEC admissions, and hunting license fees, among others.
An additional 34 services will be digitized by December 2025, which is expected to save approximately 12.3 billion rupees. The digitalization of all 170 services will be completed by June 2026.
The chief minister said a review meeting will be held every two weeks to assess the progress of digitalization. “We will make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa economically self-reliant and a model of modern governance,” he added.
