KP moves towards full digital governance: CM chairs key meeting on “Digital KP”

PESHAWAR, Nov 10 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi chaired a high-level meeting here on Monday to review progress on the “Digital Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” initiative and approve key steps aimed at accelerating the province’s transition towards e-governance and financial transparency.
According to a spokesperson for the Chief Minister’s House, the meeting was briefed that 170 public services have been identified for digital integration, of which 14 services, including property tax, arms license, water tax (Abiana), driving license, plot registration, HEC admissions, and hunting license fees have already been digitized.
Officials informed that an additional 34 services will be digitized by December 2025, leading to an estimated saving of Rs. 12.3 billion, while complete digitalization of all 170 services is expected by June 2026.
The CM was further briefed that a Digital Payment Act has been prepared to facilitate transparent and efficient electronic transactions across government departments, citizens, and businesses. The draft law will soon be presented before the provincial cabinet for approval.
Chairing the meeting, CM Sohail Afridi said that the government is committed to transforming governance through digital innovation, ensuring transparency, convenience, and efficiency in financial and administrative matters.
He directed that bi-weekly review meetings be held to monitor implementation progress and vowed to make KP a model of modern, self-reliant governance.
