ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (APP): The ongoing Lok Mela 2025, organized by the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) under the Ministry of National Heritage and Culture, continued to draw massive crowds on its third day, with thousands of visitors immersing themselves in Pakistan’s living traditions, crafts, and regional performances.
The day concluded with a vibrant Punjab Cultural Night, celebrating the province’s rich musical and artistic heritage.

Held at Lok Virsa’s Open Air Theatre, the Punjab Cultural Night lit up the stage with energetic performances by renowned folk musicians and dancers. The rhythmic beats of the dhol, chimta, bansuri, and tumbi reverberated through the venue as performers showcased the soulful spirit of Punjab.

The audience responded with loud applause, dancing along to the powerful tunes and celebrating the warmth, color, and depth of Punjabi culture.
Throughout the day, the festival grounds were abuzz with activity from artisan stalls and folk theatre to open-mic sessions, children’s activities, and food courts featuring traditional Pakistani cuisine.

The Punjab Pavilion emerged as a major attraction, offering displays of handcrafted textiles, calligraphy, folk literature, pottery, and live craft demonstrations that gave visitors an authentic glimpse into Punjab’s artistic traditions.
Launched earlier this week, Lok Mela 2025 is part of Lok Virsa’s long-standing annual tradition that brings together artisans, performers, and cultural representatives from all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. For decades, the festival has served as a cultural bridge, promoting national harmony, creative exchange, and pride in Pakistan’s diverse heritage.
The festival will continue its cultural programming until November 16 welcoming visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Lok Virsa, Shakarparian, Islamabad. Each evening features a different themed cultural night, showcasing the unique music, dance, and traditions of Pakistan’s provinces and regions.
As the sounds of Punjab echoed across Shakarparian, the third day of Lok Mela 2025 stood as a lively reminder of Pakistan’s vibrant cultural identity which is diverse in expression, yet united in spirit.
