LAHORE, Nov 09 (APP): Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that the great philosopher and poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal (RA) awakened the spirit of freedom among the Muslims of the Subcontinent through his powerful poetry and thought-provoking ideas.
In his special message on the birth anniversary of the Poet of the East and thinker of Pakistan, the minister said that the people of Pakistan salute the intellectual greatness and timeless vision of Allama Iqbal.
Khawaja Salman noted that Allama Iqbal gave the nation a new way of thinking, while Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah led the movement to its ultimate destination. “Allama Iqbal awakened the consciousness of the youth through his poetry and taught them the value of self-reliance — one of his greatest gifts to the nation,” he added.
He stressed that true tribute to Iqbal lies in adopting his philosophy of self-reliance and working toward national progress. “Only by acting upon the vision and thoughts of Allama Iqbal can Pakistan be transformed into a great and prosperous state,” the minister remarked.
He further said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government is striving to provide the best possible healthcare facilities to the people, reflecting the spirit of service and progress envisioned by Allama Iqbal.
