Pakistan win Hong Kong International 6s tourney 2025

LAHORE, Nov 09 (APP): All-round performance with the bat and ball by captain Abbas Afridi helped Pakistan beat Kuwait by 43 runs in the final of the six-a-side Hong Kong International Sixes 2025 tournament at the Mong Kok cricket stadium, Hong Kong on Sunday.
Chasing a daunting total, Kuwait team could were all out for 92 runs in 5.1 overs giving Pakistan the sixth title. All-rounder Meet Bhavsar was the highest scorer with 33 (12) which included three boundaries and as many 6s.
Earlier, Pakistan had posted 135-3 in six overs after they were asked to bat first by Kuwaiti captain Yasin Patel. Captain Abbas Afridi hit 52 off 11 balls with one boundary and seven 6s. Abdul Samad hit 42 (13) and his innings included two boundaries and five 6s. Khawaja Nafay played a short powerful knock of 22 (6) with two boundaries and as many 6s.
Chasing the big total, Kuwait team could not keep match the batting performance of the Pakistan team and lost by 43 runs. Openers Adnan Idrees 30 (80 and 33 (12) were the highest scorers. Adnan drees hit five 6s in his knock. No other batter could replicate the power hitting by both the openers.
Maaz Sadaqat was the most successful bowler for Pakistan and claimed three wickets for 29 runs off his two overs. Abbas Afridi picked one wicket for 1 run off the one over.
Abbas Afridi was adjudged Player of the Match for his performance. He was also declared Player of the Series for his all-round act throughout the tournamnent.
Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi has congratulated the Pakistan team on the Steller performance and claiming the title for record sixth time. South Africa have won the title five times.
