ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (APP): Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal on Sunday paid rich tribute to the great philosopher-poet and thinker of the Muslim world, Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal, on his birth anniversary, calling him a visionary leader and the architect of the Muslim Ummah’s intellectual awakening.
In his message, the minister said that Iqbal envisioned a dignified and self-reliant nation, guided by the philosophy of khudi (selfhood), self-confidence and a sense of purpose that would enable it to play a leading role in the world.
Quoting Iqbal’s timeless verse “Sitaron se age jahan aur bhi hain” (“There are worlds beyond the stars”), the minister said the message reminded the nation that the journey of pursuit, hard work and progress never ends.
“Iqbal’s message continues to serve as a beacon of guidance for our youth,” he said, urging them to adopt the virtues of knowledge, character, discipline and unwavering faith to achieve excellence in leadership and service to the nation.
“There is no shortcut to success; we must move forward with constant effort, confidence, and determination,” the minister stressed.
He said the government, under its ‘Uraan Pakistan’ vision, was striving to translate Iqbal’s dream into reality by fostering national spirit, intellectual revival and collective resolve.
“Let us all, with a renewed spirit, work together to take Pakistan to the heights envisioned by Allama Iqbal,” Ahsan Iqbal remarked.
