SARGODHGA, Nov 09 (APP): The Provincial Minister for Ushar and Zakat, Punjab, Rana Munawar Ghous Khan on the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, paid heartfelt tributes to the national poet, emphasizing the profound influence of Iqbal’s philosophy, poetry, and teachings on the Muslim community.
In a statement to the Associated Press of Pakistan, he described Allama Iqbal’s personality, ideas, and poetry as a “national asset,” underscoring their lasting impact on both individuals and nations.
Rana Munawar Ghous Khan further highlighted that Iqbal’s work instilled a spirit of struggle and mutual love, which transcended personal boundaries and united entire nations. “Iqbal’s life and poetry inspired a sense of resilience and unity, not only among individuals but also between nations,” he said.
The Minister also stressed that Iqbal’s poetry served as a powerful awakening for the Muslims of the subcontinent. His words played a pivotal role in igniting the struggle for a separate state for Muslims, a struggle that ultimately led to the creation of Pakistan. “Iqbal’s thoughts found their true fulfillment in the form of Pakistan,” Rana Munawar Ghous Khan remarked.
Rana Khan emphasized that Iqbal’s philosophy continues to guide and inspire the youth, particularly students. He encouraged young people to embrace Iqbal’s concept of ‘self’—a philosophy focused on self-awareness and self-development—as a way to build both their individual and collective character. “There is a strong need for students to adopt Iqbal’s teachings in order to shape their personalities and contribute to the progress of the nation,” he added.
The Provincial Minister concluded by reaffirming that Allama Iqbal’s legacy remains a beacon for future generations, urging students to draw strength from his teachings for both personal and national development.
