LAHORE, Nov 09 (APP): A dignified Change of Guard Ceremony was held at the Mausoleum of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal to mark the 148th birth anniversary of the Poet of the East.
A well-drilled contingent from the Pakistan Navy took over ceremonial guard duties at the Mazar-e-Iqbal with traditional military precision and decorum.
The outgoing contingent from the Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) formally handed over responsibility during the guard-mounting ceremony. Both the Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Rangers contingents assembled outside the mausoleum, presenting themselves for inspection.
Rear Admiral Sohail Ahmad Azmie, Commander of the Pakistan Navy Central Punjab, served as the chief guest and inspected both the outgoing and incoming guards. With flawless coordination, the Pakistan Navy contingent took their ceremonial positions at the Mazar, while the Pakistan Rangers were ceremoniously marched out by the officer-in-charge, marking the completion of the official handover.
Following the ceremony, Rear Admiral Azmie laid a wreath at the Mazar of Allama Iqbal on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, as well as the officers, sailors, and civilians of the Pakistan Navy. He offered Fateha and then signed the visitors’ book, paying tribute to the enduring legacy and national vision of the great philosopher-poet.
