ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (APP): Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid Sunday paid rich tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbal on the occasion of Iqbal Day, acknowledging his remarkable contributions and visionary leadership that shaped the course of the nation’s history.
Senator Rubina Khalid described Allama Iqbal as “a poet, philosopher, and visionary leader whose thoughts continue to inspire generations.”
She said Iqbal played a pivotal role in awakening the spirit of self-awareness and unity among Muslims of the subcontinent, ultimately laying the foundation for the creation of Pakistan.
“Iqbal’s message of khudi (selfhood) teaches us the value of dignity, self-reliance, and justice,” she noted.
“His poetry continues to enlighten minds and guide the nation towards building a fair and prosperous society.”
Rubina Khalid emphasized that Iqbal’s ideas transcend generations and resonate with people from all walks of life, reminding the nation to strive for unity, self-respect, and a just order.
“On this Iqbal Day, we pay heartfelt tribute to his unmatched services to Pakistani literature, culture, and national identity,” she said, adding that the best way to honor Iqbal’s legacy is to work towards building a just, prosperous, and united Pakistan.
