Delegations from Morocco, Somalia, Congo, Guyana arrive for speakers’ Conference

ISLAMABAD, Nov 09 (APP): Parliamentary delegations from Morocco, Somalia, Congo, and Guyana, along with the President of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Dr Tageldin Ibrahim Hamad, arrived in Islamabad to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference being held under the leadership of Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani.
The two-day conference, taking place from November 11 to 12, 2025, aims to promote global peace, strengthen cooperation, and enhance parliamentary relations among participating countries.
Dr. Tageldin Ibrahim Hamad, representing the Universal Peace Federation—an organisation associated with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC)—was warmly welcomed at Islamabad International Airport by senior officials of the Senate Secretariat.
From Somalia, Sadiya Yassin, First Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, arrived with her delegation. Prosper Kasongo Lukali Tunda, a Member of
Parliament from Congo, and Ubraj Narine, Director of National Peace Initiatives from Guyana, also reached Islamabad to take part in the conference.
The delegation from Morocco included staff accompanying the Speaker of the House of Councillors, such as the Speaker’s Executive Director, a senior journalist, an interpreter, and other officials.
Senator Faisal Saleem Rahman, along with senior officers of the Senate Secretariat, warmly received all visiting delegates at the airport.
The Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference represents a major step toward promoting global understanding, peace, and parliamentary cooperation through dialogue and shared democratic principles.
