LODHRAN, Nov 09 (APP): Lodhran police recovered stolen property worth more than Rs15.76 million during October, according to the district police’s monthly performance report issued here.
During the month, police traced and busted seven criminal gangs, recovering stolen valuables worth Rs5.31 million and arresting 19 gang members involved in various crimes.
A total of 881 cases were registered across the district, leading to the arrest of 905 suspects involved in offences such as robbery, theft, drug trafficking, and violent crimes.
In the ongoing crackdown on fugitives, Lodhran Police apprehended 162 proclaimed offenders, 47 court absconders, and 27 target offenders.
Efforts to curb illegal arms possession resulted in 14 cases being registered, with the recovery of 10 pistols, two revolvers, one gun, and 24 live rounds.
The police also intensified its campaign against narcotics, registering 65 cases and seizing 48.368 kilograms of hashish, 4.520 kilograms of heroin, 2.380 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 1,520 liters of liquor. Additionally, five illegal distilleries were unearthed.
Firm action was taken against various illegal businesses, with 30 cases registered against unauthorized LPG vehicle operations, 17 cases against illegal gas refilling, and 18 cases against unlicensed petrol agencies.
The report further stated that 150 cases were registered under the Beggary Ordinance and 129 cases against power theft as part of the government’s anti-power theft campaign.
In traffic and public order enforcement, 15 cases were registered for overspeeding, while 34 cases were filed under the Amplifier and Sound Act, resulting in 36 arrests. Police also registered 17 cases against individuals making hoax calls to Helpline 15.
District Police Officer Capt (R) Ali Bin Tariq praised the performance of the Lodhran Police and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to maintaining peace, ensuring public safety, and continuing operations against criminal elements across the district.
