LAHORE, Nov 08 (APP): Punjab Police continue their vigorous province-wide crackdown on proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes, habitual criminals, and court absconders. According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, more than 118,000 proclaimed offenders have been arrested this year, including 41,252 in Category A and 77,636 in Category B.
The spokesperson further said that 47,495 court absconders have been apprehended across the province, including 10,979 in Category A and 36,516 in Category B. Arrests of habitual criminals totaled 27,221, comprising 10,962 in Category A and 16,259 in Category B. In Lahore alone, police have arrested 26,163 proclaimed offenders, 19,475 court absconders, and 10,514 habitual criminals.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police teams and directed that the crackdown continue with full intensity. He emphasized bringing dangerous criminals to justice through coordination with complainants and effective information sharing, instructing RPOs and DPOs to personally supervise operations to further strengthen law and order across the province.
