CHINIOT, Nov 8 (APP): In line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, Chiniot Police have achieved a significant milestone in the fight against drugs. On Saturday, a court has sentenced drug peddler Tahir to 24 years in prison and a fine of Rs 1.4 million.
The conviction resulted from a case registered against Tahir, who was arrested with 1155 grams of heroin and 1050 grams of ice. District Police Officer Abdullah Ahmed credited the effective prosecution and investigation for the sentence, stating that peddlers are being punished with robust evidence.
Ahmed announced an ongoing district-wide crackdown on drugs, including an awareness campaign. He emphasized public cooperation is crucial to eradicate drugs and secure the youth’s future.
