FAISALABAD, Nov 08 (APP): The police have implemented comprehensive security arrangements for the third and decisive One-Day International (ODI) between Pakistan and South Africa, which is being held at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators.
SSP Operations, Bushra Jameel, visited Iqbal Stadium on Saturday to review the security measures in place for the crucial Pakistan–South Africa match. She was accompanied by senior officers, including SSP Investigation Nasir Mahmood Bajwa, SP Lyallpur Division Abid Zafar, SP Iqbal Division Saeed Ahmad, and DSP Factory Area Circle Usman.
In her briefing, SSP Bushra Jameel emphasized that the security arrangements are being carried out in close coordination with all relevant departments, ensuring the strict enforcement of the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). A special control room has been set up for real-time CCTV monitoring of the stadium and its surrounding areas.
To enhance vigilance, Elite Force, Dolphin Force, and mobile patrols have been deployed, with snipers positioned on rooftops for strategic security coverage. Additionally, the routes used by both teams have been effectively secured.
A comprehensive traffic and parking plan has also been implemented to ensure smooth vehicular movement around the stadium. Spectators entering the stadium undergo a thorough body search and screening through walk-through gates for added security.
“Ensuring the complete protection of the players and cricket fans is our top priority,” SSP Bushra Jameel said, expressing her satisfaction with the coordination among law enforcement and supporting agencies to create a safe and secure environment for the match.
