Sikh pilgrims celebrate Guru Nanak’s 556th birth anniversary at Gurdwara Panja Sahib

ATTOCK, Nov 8 (APP): Over 2,000 Sikh pilgrims from India and around the world gathered at Gurdwara Panja Sahib in Hasan Abdal, Attock, to celebrate the 556th birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The three-day celebrations concluded with the Bhog ceremony, bringing the religious events to a close under strict security arrangements, the local correspondent of APP reported this from, Hasanabdal,  Attock on Saturday.
According to the details, the gurdwara and surrounding areas were beautifully illuminated, with arrangements made for cleanliness, langar, and accommodation. Pilgrims performed rituals at the shrine of Baba Wali Kandhari, praising the facilities and hospitality provided by Pakistani authorities.
Visiting pilgrims commended the Pakistani government’s efforts to preserve Sikh heritage and facilitate religious tourism. Nishan Singh of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee described the arrangements as “excellent”, while Deputy Party Leader Gurmeet Singh Boh praised the preservation of Gurdwara Panja Sahib’s historical and spiritual essence.
The pilgrimage highlights Pakistan’s commitment to preserving Sikh heritage and fostering cultural and spiritual ties with the Sikh community abroad.
On this occasion, ETPB Additional Secretary Nasir Mushtaq expressed gratitude to the teams and district administration for successfully managing the celebrations, saying Sikh pilgrims carry a message of peace, harmony, and goodwill from Pakistan.
