BAHAWALPUR, Nov 08 (APP): On the occasion of the 148th birth anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Vice Chancellor of Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, paid rich tributes to the national poet, highlighting the profound impact of Iqbal’s teachings, philosophy, and poetry on the Muslim community.
In a statement issued by the university, Prof. Dr. Kamran emphasized that Allama Iqbal’s personality, ideas, and poetry are a national asset. He said, “Iqbal’s life and poetry inspired a spirit of struggle and mutual love, not only among individuals but also between nations.”
Prof. Dr. Kamran further noted that Iqbal’s words served as a powerful message of awakening for the Muslims of the subcontinent. His poetry and sermons played a key role in inspiring the struggle for a separate state for Muslims, which culminated in the creation of Pakistan.
“Iqbal’s thoughts ultimately found their fulfillment in the form of Pakistan,” he said. “His philosophy continues to guide and inspire the youth, especially students. There is a strong need for students to embrace Iqbal’s concept of ‘self’ to build both their individual and collective character,” he added.
