ISLAMABAD, Nov 08 (APP): Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and Safron, Engineer Amir Muqam, has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, terming them “regrettable, irresponsible and inflammatory.”
In his statement on Saturday, the minister emphasized that hate-filled comments directed against state institutions were unacceptable and would not be tolerated in any form.
He said that spreading hatred in the name of the sanctity of mosques and martyrs was highly condemnable.
The chief minister must remember that his office demands responsibility, seriousness, and national unity — not division or confrontation with institutions, he said.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa deeply salute the sacrifices rendered by the security forces and the Pakistan Army in the pursuit of peace and stability.
He emphasized that the people of the province hold the eternal sacrifices of the martyrs in the highest regard, honoring their blood as a sacred trust. Muqam added that the nation stands united in its respect for those who laid down their lives to safeguard the country’s future.
Muqam said that extremist remarks reflect the mindset of an individual and not the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Muqam stressed that this conduct does not befit any patriotic leadership, adding that unity and respect for national institutions are essential for the country’s stability.
Muqam reaffirmed that peace, development and stability were the rightful due of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He emphasized that the chief minister, as the constitutional head of the province, must uphold the dignity of his office by embracing cooperation with national institutions rather than pursuing a path of confrontation.
