Dera Ismail Khan, Nov 08 (APP): A distinguished ceremony was held at Government Primary School No. 1 to commemorate Iqbal Day, with SDEO Dera, Dr. Humayun Khan Khattak, attending as the chief guest.
Students delivered speeches, recited poems, and presented special tableaus highlighting the philosophy of selfhood (Khudi) and the message of awakening for the nation, as envisioned by Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Poet of the East. The event was attended by local dignitaries, teachers, and parents.
The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Na’at. Students’ performances, marked by patriotic fervor and creative expression, received widespread appreciation from the audience, infusing the atmosphere with national spirit and intellectual energy.
Addressing the audience, Dr. Khattak emphasized Iqbal’s teachings of self-reliance, freedom of thought, and character building for the youth. He highlighted the importance of introducing students to Iqbal’s philosophy to nurture a capable, disciplined, and enlightened generation.
Head Teacher Shehzada Kamran Saleem Khan lauded the students’ hard work and the guidance of teachers, stating that such curricular and extracurricular activities play a crucial role in enhancing students’ skills and boosting their confidence.
