KP Govt values journalists sacrifices for peace: Shafi Jan

PESHAWAR, Nov 07 (APP): Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Information, Shafi Jan hare Friday visited Peshawar Press Club along with a party delegation and invited journalists to attend peace jirga scheduled in November 12 at KP Assembly.
The delegation included Member of the National Assembly Sher Ali Arbab, members of the provincial assembly Naeem Khan, Abdul Munim Khan, Kamran Bangash, Irfan Saleem, and other leaders.
Special Assistant Shafi Jan presented an invitation to the President of the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) M Riaz to attend the “Peace Jirga” scheduled for November 12.
President PPC, M. Riaz, assured the special assistant of full cooperation in efforts to establish peace. “PPC and the journalist community will stand with the government for lasting peace in the province,” said President M. Riaz.
He said PPC will stand with the government for the interests and rights of the province. “On November 12, we are holding one of the province’s biggest constitutional and legal jirgas for lasting peace,” said Shafi Jan.
He said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf values the sacrifices made by journalists for peace. “Journalists are playing a key role in establishing peace through their pens,” he added.
Shafi said all political and religious parties have been invited to the Peace Jirga. “It is our wish that all political parties participate in this jirga,” concluded Shafi Jan.
