KCCI, FPCCI resolve to work together for revival, stability of economy

KARACHI, Nov 07 (APP):As an expression of national unity, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), on Friday reaffirmed their joint resolve to work together for the revival and stability of Pakistan’s economy.
President KCCI Rehan Hanif and Senior Vice President FPCCI Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, at a high-level meeting held at KCCI with leading representatives of both chambers in attendance, emphasized the urgent need for cohesive action, collective advocacy, and institutional cooperation among the country’s trade bodies to address common economic challenges, said a statement issued here.
Rehan Hanif called on collective action for resolving common issues and said, “It is essential that not just KCCI and FPCCI, but all chambers of commerce, join hands to raise a united and stronger voice so that the issues confronting the business community attract the attention of policymakers and are resolved in line with our shared aspirations”.
He stressed on working through a unified platform for achieving the objectives of business-friendly tax regime, level playing field, rational power tariff, promotion of competitiveness and export facilitation.  “Major economic issues must be jointly raised and pursued through collective efforts”, he emphasized.
Saquib Fayyaz Magoon termed the widely participated meeting as a historic moment of building enduring cooperation between FPCCI and KCCI and emphasized the business community to act in unity to strengthen Pakistan’s economy.
He urged the need of formal consultation with the business community in budget making and other important policy decisions by government. FPCCI and KCCI share identical views on the implementation of e-invoicing and e-bilty systems, and on the impact of Section 7E and the FATA/PATA regime, he noted and emphasized on raising a single unified voice to tackle these issues.
KCCI SVP Muhammad Raza, VP Muhammad Arif Lakhani, Former VP Faisal Khalil, FPCCI VP Aman Paracha, former VP Shabbir Mansha, Patron Hyderabad Chamber Adeel Siddiqui and others also attended the meeting.
