ISLAMABAD, Nov 07 (APP):The Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) Islamabad, and the Consortium for Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies (CAPES) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance academic collaboration, research development and regional cooperation.
The agreement was signed by Dr Saba Bashir, In-charge Campus FUUAST Islamabad and Dr Khurram Iqbal President CAPES, underscored both institutions commitment to advancing joint initiatives in research, education and policy engagement, said a press release on Friday.
Under the MoU, FUUAST and CAPES will collaborate in diverse areas including Asia Pacific and Eurasian Studies, geopolitics, international relations, security and strategy policy development, capacity building, internships, seminars, and academic conferences.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Dr Saba Bashir said the partnership would open new avenues for research and intellectual exchange.
The university is dedicated to strengthening academic linkages that contribute to a deeper understanding of regional and global issues, she noted.
“This collaboration reflects our vision of fostering intellectual growth and international engagement,” she said.
Dr Khurram Iqbal, President CAPES, lauded the initiative, saying it would bring together scholars and researchers to examine the evolving dynamics of the Asia Pacific and Eurasian regions.
“Together with FUUAST, we aim to produce meaningful research and policy insights that address contemporary regional challenges,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr Faisal Javaid, HoD Department of IR and Mass Communication, who played the key role in signing the two institutions, welcomed the CAPES’s officials at the campus.
He added that the Federal Urdu University is going with a practical approach for producing intellectual graduates.
