With $13b inflows, remittances grow 9.3pc in 4 months of FY26

KARACHI, Nov 07 (APP):The Workers’ remittances from overseas to Pakistan recorded over 9 percent growth in the first 4 months of fiscal year 2025-26 with an inflow of $ 12.96 billion, of them $ 3.42 billion were received during October 2025.
“Cumulatively, with an inflow of US$ 13.0 billion, workers’ remittances increased by 9.3 percent during July-Oct FY26 compared to US$ 11.9 billion received during the same period last year,” the State Bank of Pakistan reported on Friday.
Workers’ remittances recorded an inflow of US$ 3.42 billion during October 2025, showing 11.9 percent growth on yearly basis in comparison of $ 3.1 billion inflows of October 2024 while 7.4 percent increase was observed on monthly basis as compared to $ 3.2 billion inflows during September 2025.
Remittance inflows during October 2025 were mainly sourced from Saudi Arabia (US$ 820.9 million), United Arab Emirates (US$ 697.7 million), United Kingdom (US$ 487.7 million), United States of America (US$ 290.0 million), and other GCC countries ($342.2 million).
The contribution of expatriates in remittances from European Union countries during October 2025 recorded as $457.4 million including $153.5 million from Italy, $72.4 million from Spain, $70.8 million from Germany, $50 million from France and $47.4 million from Greece.
Overseas workers also contributed to the remittances from Australia with $87.8 million, Canada $68.5 million, South Africa $24 million, Malaysia $13.9 million, Norway $11 million, South Korea $9.1 million, Switzerland $5.4 million and Japan $4.7 million.
