Full implementation of Murree Snowfall Emergency Core Plan directed

RAWALPINDI, Nov 07 (APP): All departments in the Murree District on Friday were directed to remain on alert to ensure full implementation of the Master Snowfall Emergency Core Plan.
The directive was issued by Additional Deputy Commissioner Murree General Kamran Sagheer, who chaired a meeting of the District Emergency Board to review the winter emergency and snowfall response plan.
Representatives of all relevant departments briefed the forum on preparations for public facilitation and rescue operations during the forthcoming winter season and possible heavy snowfall.
Officials also discussed new rescue stations established in Murree and Kotli Sattian, registration of private ambulances, and implementation of updated standard operating procedures.
A representative of the District Disaster Management Authority outlined the disaster management plan, safety measures, and winter emergency arrangements.
The additional deputy commissioner directed all departments to remain in the field with full emergency resources during snowfall to ensure prompt response to any unforeseen situation. They were also instructed to ensure that personnel deployed at facilitation centres guide and assist the public effectively.
Citizens were advised to contact the Rescue 1122 helpline or the control room numbers 051-9330016 and 051-9330025 in any emergency, while district administration helplines 051-9269016 and 051-9269018 would also remain available.
The meeting was attended by the assistant commissioners of Murree and Kotli Sattian, the chief executive health officer, chief traffic officer Murree, Motorway Police officers, Punjab Police representatives, divisional forest officer Murree, and officials from the Highway, Building, Special Branch, National Highway Authority, Health, Civil Defence, WAPDA and Waste Management departments.
