MULTAN, Nov 07 (APP):In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Multan Waste Management Company (MWMC) has introduced a Zero Waste Model to enhance cleanliness and environmental sustainability across the region.
The initiative was officially launched with the inauguration of two model union councils in Tehsil Burewala of district Vehari.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) MWMC, Abdul Razzaq Dogar, along with political leaders, inaugurated the model union councils, UC-6 and UC-51, during a formal ceremony. The event was attended by parliamentarians Chaudhry Nazir Arrain, Khalid Dogar and Yousaf.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Abdul Razzaq Dogar stated that the model union councils would serve as a milestone in establishing a modern waste management system and providing improved public facilities. He emphasized that the model UCs would achieve 100% waste collection, making them completely waste-free zones.
He further announced that the model union council system would be gradually expanded across the entire Multan Division.
Meanwhile, a private contractor company has initiated an extensive cleanliness operation in the designated model union councils, ensuring efficient implementation of the Zero Waste vision.
