ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (APP):The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) successfully concluded the 26th Meeting of the South Asian Telecommunication Regulators’ Council (SATRC-26).
The three-day event, organized by the Asia-Pacific Telecommunity (APT) and hosted by PTA, brought together heads of regulatory authorities, policy experts, and industry leaders from across South Asia to deliberate on advancing regional digital cooperation and best regulatory practices.
The meeting served as a premier regional platform for dialogue and collaboration on key regulatory issues, focusing on the adoption of the Tokyo Statement 2025 and its implications for sustainable, inclusive, and equitable digital transformation in South Asia.
Discussions covered critical themes including emerging technologies, universal connectivity, spectrum harmonization, and regulatory innovation.
Through structured sessions, roundtables, and working group deliberations, member states presented outcomes of the SATRC Action Plan Phase IX and adopted the framework for SATRC Action Plan Phase X, setting a forward-looking agenda to strengthen digital ecosystems and regional cooperation.
By successfully hosting SATRC-26, PTA reaffirmed Pakistan’s leadership role in promoting collaborative ICT development, regional connectivity, and policy alignment across South Asia, underscoring its commitment to building a digitally resilient and inclusive future for the region.
