BAHAWALPUR, Nov 07 (APP): The performance of Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) hospitals across district Bahawalpur has shown a significant improvement from August to October 2025.
According to a performance report issued by Chief Executive Officer, District Health Authority Bahawalpur, Dr. Amir Bashir, medical services in THQ hospitals have improved remarkably, reflecting enhanced efficiency, better facilities, and growing public trust.
The report highlighted that overall hospital performance recorded substantial progress, as evident from the increased number of patients availing services. Outpatient Department (OPD) visits rose by 11 percent, while admissions of indoor patients increased by 16 percent. Maternity services also showed notable improvement, with a 59 percent increase in normal deliveries and a 20 percent rise in C-section cases. In neonatal health, normal births increased by 22 percent, while neonatal mortality dropped by 19 percent, marking a major achievement. Remarkably, the report recorded zero maternal mortality during childbirth in this period. Diagnostic services also saw significant enhancement, with ultrasound services increasing by 34 percent, ECG by 32 percent, laboratory tests by 18 percent, and X-ray services by 17 percent. Furthermore, hepatitis screening rose by 68 percent, the number of insulin recipients increased by 29 percent, and the provision of hepatitis medicines saw a 15 percent rise.
Dr. Amir Bashir stated that the medical teams at Tehsil Headquarters Hospitals are working diligently to ensure the provision of quality healthcare facilities to the public. He said all necessary resources are available in hospitals, and staff remain fully committed to patient care. He emphasized that growing public confidence is the greatest success of the Health Department and assured that the hospital administrations will continue to enhance service standards. Dr. Amir Bashir reiterated that providing the best healthcare facilities to the people is the department’s top priority and that these achievements reflect the success of Punjab Government’s health sector reforms and restored public trust in government healthcare institutions.
