ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (APP): Parliamentary Secretary for Energy (Petroleum Division) Mian Khan Bugti on Friday informed the National Assembly that the federal government has relaxed the moratorium on new individual domestic gas connections under Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) supply.
Responding questions during question hours he said priority would be given to applicants who had already paid demand notices or urgent fees.
Responding to questions during the Question Hour, Bugti stated that the decision has been communicated to both gas utility companies, which are now working to obtain necessary regulatory approvals and finalize rollout plans to process new applications.
He added that the companies would also launch awareness campaigns through electronic and print media to guide and facilitate consumers.
The parliamentary secretary further said that applicants who had previously applied for local gas connections but are now willing to shift to RLNG-based supply under revised terms and conditions will also be given preference.
Such applicants, he added, would be contacted by the respective Sui companies to pay differential charges and sign new contracts for RLNG connections.
