BAHAWALPUR, Nov 07 (APP):The 5th International Conference, organised by the School of State Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences, The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB), concluded successfully with experts and delegates presenting key recommendations for strengthening governance and promoting sustainable development.
Participants stressed that inclusive governance is essential for ensuring social stability, identity recognition, and empowerment. They called for enhanced participation, transparency, and civic literacy to strengthen democracy and leadership. The delegates highlighted the need to develop modern digital models of public service delivery to improve transparency, build public trust, and promote inclusive decision-making by enhancing institutional capacities.
The conference also underscored the importance of integrating literacy and cybersecurity education into the national curriculum and adopting international best practices to modernize educational governance and reduce the digital divide. Delegates noted that reimagining Pakistan’s governance framework for the 21st century requires sustainability and knowledge creation as its core principles.
Vice Chancellor of Government Sadiq College Women University Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum was Chief Guest of the closing ceremony, while Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Nayyir Mustafa attended as Guest of Honor. Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, and Chief Organizer of the conference Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti expressed gratitude to the guests and appreciated the continued guidance of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, IUB. She also acknowledged the dedicated efforts of Dr. Sarfraz Batool (Director, School of State Sciences), Dr. Shahbaz Ali Khan (Chairman, Department of Public Administration and Conference Focal Person), Dr. Shakeel Akhtar (Conference Secretary), and Dr. Ansar Abbas (Deputy Focal Person) for their role in the event’s success.
