DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Nov 07 (APP):A nationwide measles and rubella vaccination campaign will kick off in Tank on November 17 under the supervision of the Health Department.
The drive aims to immunize all children aged between six months and five years against the two potentially life-threatening diseases.
The health experts said the campaign is part of the government’s broader goal to eliminate measles and rubella from the country.
They urged upon the parents to ensure that their children receive the free vaccine at nearby health centers or designated vaccination sites.
The health officials have assured that the measles-rubella vaccine is approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and is completely safe, having been successfully administered to millions of children worldwide.
The district health officer emphasized that public cooperation is essential for the campaign’s success. “We assure parents that the vaccine is safe and vital for their children’s health and future,” he said, adding that trained teams will provide vaccination services at homes, schools, and health facilities.
The experts reiterated that both measles and rubella are preventable diseases, and timely vaccination is the most effective protection against them.
