BEIJING, Nov 7 (APP): China’s goods trade maintained steady growth during the first 10 months of this year, reaching 37.31 trillion yuan ($5.24 trillion), up 3.6 percent year on year, according to data released on Friday by the General Administration of Customs.
In October alone, China’s total goods trade edged up 0.1 percent year on year to 3.7 trillion yuan ($519.7 billion). Imports rose 1.4 percent, marking the fifth consecutive month of increase, CGTN reported on Friday.
Notably, from January to October, China’s trade with Belt and Road partner countries climbed 5.9 percent year on year to 19.28 trillion yuan ($2.71 trillion). The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) groups remained China’s largest trading partner, with bilateral trade expanding 9.1 percent and accounting for 16.6 percent of the country’s total goods trade.
During the same period, foreign trade volume of private enterprises hit 21.28 trillion yuan ($2.99 trillion), marking a 7.2 percent annual increase, 1.9 percentage points higher than the growth recorded a year earlier. Foreign-invested firms posted total imports and exports of 10.91 trillion yuan ($1.53 trillion), representing 29.3 percent of China’s overall trade.
