SARGODHA, Nov 07 (APP):Deputy Commissioner Sargodha Capt (Retd) Muhammad Waseem on Friday announced new officially-mandated prices for essential kitchen items following consultations with the District Price Control Committee.
The notification, effective immediately, sets the retail ceiling for key pulses and staples: new-crop super basmati rice at Rs 270 per kg, aged super basmati at Rs 300, while coarse black chickpeas will sell for Rs 215 and white chickpeas for Rs 264 per kg.Gram flour (besan) has been fixed at Rs 210 per kg, whole green lentils at Rs 315, and washed white lentils at Rs 375 per kg.
Meat and dairy rates have also been revised, with mutton capped at Rs 1,600 per kg and beef at PKR 800. Fresh full-cream milk would retail at Rs 165 per litre and yoghurt at Rs 175 per kg. A 100-gram plain chapatti would cost Rs 14, and a 120-gram tandoori naan Rs 20.
Addressing local traders, the Deputy Commissioner warned that price-control magistrates have been directed to enforce the new schedule rigorously. “Any violation will invite swift legal action,” he said, urging shopkeepers to “stand with the public in these inflationary times by respecting the notified rates.”
The DC said that the move is aimed at stabilizing markets ahead of the winter season, when demand for pulses and dairy traditionally peaks.
